Guys I knew Ike from the time he arrived in Dallas Tx from Nigeria. I watched Curtis Cokes transform Ike from a crude brawler to the near perfect boxing machine. To me Ike was the only HW out there that would have a chance with a focussed in shape Lennox Lewis
Ike maintains his innocence of **** to this day. He was coerced into copping a plea after being held under sedation for over a year. They promised him he.d be out boxing again in 6 months. Instead the woman judge gave him the max sentence 5-30 yrs. He was railroaded & any mental problems he may have were caused by keeping him under sedation like a zombie for so long.
Without doubt had he not called that greedy hooker that night he'd have been The undisputed HW champ to this day

It was a great fight, and it could have went either way. I am pretty sure I thought Ibaebuchi won but I really was not much of a judge in 97-98.

He made a big mistake dog and he paid for it big time. He probably won't box again cuz the parole board ain't lettin this big bad negro out in the streets. They just see what's in writing and not if he's rehabilitated. Messed up prison system dog, needs a change especially in Nevada I wish he had gotten an escort service chick out here in Cali. They would've paroled him years back.

With all due respect, I was never sold on Ike. He was an excellent prospect, but it is impossible to say how he would have fared against the best in the world, again and again. He never proved himself against a heavyweight who was bigger than him, and he would have had to of faced plenty had he not mentally melted down. That is another point in question. We know his psyche was fragile. Its my opinion that if he didn't crack when he did, it would have happened eventually. Ike had some good tools, but so have many guys in boxing history who never made it to the top of the mountain.

I think Curtis Cokes would have been a good trainer for sam peter.

Ike will be 37 and out of boxing for 10 years or more. On top of that he is weighing more than 300lbs these days. I'd say any chance of Ike regaining his previous for are pretty slim. Unlike him nowadays.
