    President Ike Ibeabuchi

Just how good was President Ike? And how good could he have been? U know Before he went nuts and stuff!!! lol
ve got 5 of his fights on dvd and just wastched them all on the bounce, i rate him high, tho he never really accomplished squat!

The guy had an indimadating look, was big enough, had good power a top notch chin, big heart, Great stamina nice skill set and an enjoyable style to watch. His most memorable fights are the one against a 27-0 David Tua who had just Owned Ruiz and stopped Izon and Maskaiev, in a fight that was what Heavy weight boxing is all about! Two big guys trading big punches and plenty of them, no jab and grab **** in this fight, infact they set a compubox punch out put record throwing more in there 12 rounds than even Ali and Smoking Joe did in Mannilla over 14! And these were real punches not **** flicks and weak arm punches. Against Byrd he Wiped out a slick 26-0 defensive wizz who back then was a real handfull for anybody with a monster left hook in the 5th! Byrd of course went on to beat some big names and held a title for a while.

So how good was he, a threat to Lewis? Would he become one? Discuss

He would have never got much further than he did, he was unstable and his training was starting to suffer by the Byrd fight. Look at his conditioning in the Tua fight, then look at how sloppy he looks in the Byrd fight. For a certified insane guy he had a good run, he was bound to end up in prison though and no one could have kept him on the straight and narrow.

The Tua fight was great and the first knockdown on Byrd was one of the craziest punches I have ever seen, I am always amazed Byrd got up from that even if he did not remember getting hit like that. It is hard to say if he was not a maniac it would probably change his style but who knows if he was a normal guy he could have been something. He was about as far from a normal guy as you can get though. He answered the question how can you **** a **********, that story is brutal on a whole other level.

Ike was a good imo, had a good jab put combos together well and had good hand speed for such a big man, he had good power and a good chin and had great stamina. His wins over Tua and a prime Byrd were all good. I think he would have beat all the fighters around in the late 90's early 00's except for Lewis, i think he would be a big threat he had the power to hurt Lewis but I dont know how well he would have dealt with the height and the Lewis jab, its a big shame we never saw that fight.

The Tua-Ibaebuchi fight is one of the fights that made me really fall in love with boxing. So it is kind of a bittersweet topic for me.

Two young undefeated punchers prepared to leave it all in the ring and who aint afraid to get hit!

Aiight well it's safe to say Ike was one of the baddest dudes in the ring, The Sonny Liston of the nineties. I don't know why he kept on switching trainers from curtis cokes, Cokes is a great heavyweight trainer from the dirty south and Ikemfula should've just stuck with him. Ike I thought was either gonna have either of these two title shots for sure but he ended up with neither. I was so convinced he was gonna fight Vitali instead of mahone or herbie for WBO title after he beat Byrd, that didn't happen. Lennox was talking about vacating his WBA title and I thought when that happened it surely would open somethin up for Ike but he had to go and get arrested and Holyfield and Ruiz fought. Ike ain't never gonna fight again all we can do are watch his KO of Byrd and UD in Sac town against Tua and fantasize bout what could've been.
