You can't really predict flash knockdowns, flash knockdowns are just that, flashes, aberrations.

Either a knockdown is a knockdown or it isn't, the term flash knockdown is misused nowadays to excuse a fighter getting dropped by someone the sayer believes shouldn't be able to knock down the other, usually due to a bias.

Wow, Ring magazine number 4 against number 1 and it will be a shutout, bias posting at its best here, not saying mirajes won't win, but vic not getting one round, I would bet all my points he wins at least 1!

Isn't it used in the context that the fighter that went down wasn't really hurt,
he was basically stunned momentarily but was otherwise fine.

That's the way I believe the term is used.

That's a good fight too. So is Montiel. I will settle for any or all of these.
Just please no more guys named Frank Gorjux or Asians named Chatchai or Teppui.
Donaire hasnt fought an Arce or a Munoz, he beat Darchyan whos one dimensional, and beat Maldonado whos a nobody, (montiel iced him in 3)

Mijares just beat Arce when he faced Gorjux and Teppui or w/e his name is, he just unified and fought another asian fighter, let the man get a tuneup and make money out of it, he gets a good audience, impressive for his weight class

The reason I dislike tune ups these days is they seem to take forever to get a good fight again, we have to wait a while.

As it is I am down with any of those fights so Mijares can prove he's a great and really attempted to unify and make history.
And as you know, your shelf life is shorter, when you are a smaller fighter so you gotta get while the gettin is good.

If winning at least one round is a moral victory for you, I'm sure you could find one or two to give him. Nothing biased about it, Mijares is an exceptional fighter and stylistically is the worst possible matchup Darchinyan could have taken. He telegraphs his punches and against a sharp shooter like Mijares, he isn't going to land those kind of punches. If Darchinyan can't land haymakers, he can't win.

To use a Stewardism, Mijares is a computer printout of the worst fighter Darchinyan could have fought.

The term is abused by fans of certain fighters as an excuse. Like Ferocity saying Fernando Vargas suffered a flash knockdown against Shane Mosley in the rematch. Or Calzaghe getting dropped by Hopkins.

Dude why do you bring "morality" in this issue. I already posted he probably will lose, but there is a consesus here Darchinyan is going to get schooled and an easy shutout for Mirajes, and it seems like Darchinyan won't tag him in 12 straight rounds. What about if the "telegraphed" punches actually hits the target and then what? Does Mijares have a Margarito chin? No one seems to admit that is a possibility. Come on man don't preach morality, especially not in a boxing forum? WTF?
