Good point. And Tony Will move on, but everybdoy knows De La Hoya will not be remembered as a legend or even as a hero. He'll be remembered as the guy who gave Tito Trinidad a boxing clinic for 6 rounds, thought he had it in the bag and ran away for the last six rounds. He'll be remembered as the guy who fought an old, and done Julio Cesar Chavez TWICE. He'll be remembered as the guy who shot music videos while training for a fight. He'll be remembered as the guy who fought a good fight against Floyd Mayweather, by using his jab effectively through 3/4 of the fight, stopped using his jab in the end and was quoted after the fight as saying " It wasn't a jab night". Point being Oscar De La Hoya's legacy dies with him when he retires. Yes he fought many greats and let's add that there were many controversial decisions in his career. But he never fought with heart and pride or atleast lost it somewhere. This fight symbolizes that Oscar just wants to make a cheesy fight in order to make money. It's like making a piece of **** movies with stars in it. Oscar is like Alex Rodriguez, he's cursed forever and will always have a tainted legacy that will always be questioned.

What are you talking about? Tony.

De La Hoya earned all the respect you are talking about. With all due respect you are not yet on the level of ODLH, M Jr, or Pacquiao, Cotto could have been if he beat you. KO Williams, maybe the boxing public will lift you to their level but as of now just be contented where you are.

One thing that many people fail to remember is that ODLH was the one saying he "like" to fight the winner of the Cotto/Marg fight. I am sure this is why Marg is now saying "well, like come on you said this and you said that" now what?

But as well all know ODLH contra****s (contradicts) himself alot.

I too am a Margarito fan, but to be honest he needs to move on fight Clottey, hope he wins. Then take care of business with PWill. Then if ODLH is still around maybe he will give him the fight. I doubt that it will happen.

One thing that needs to happen, but doubt it will, is that they need to stop making fights with over-the-hill boxers/legends for the sake of money and not the sport. I've said it before and I will say it again. No one in their wettest dream would have dreamed up Pac vs ODLH to fight. Had they taken a poll (hey, I just thought of something) this would not have been a true boxing fans wish. Boxing has been, is and will continue to be a business controlled by very few greedy persons.

I've been a fan of boxing since I was a kid (about 35-40 years ago). I remember when you could see Ali, Foreman, Monzon, Arguello, Pryor, Sanchez (my boy) all on regular TV. There was no PPV, no HBO. This was demise of boxing as I knew it. There were no huge pay fights like what we see nowadays. Boxers boxed for glory and to make a decent living. Sure they deserve big paydays but all a promoter has to do now is make it PPV and charge unheard of prices for attending the fight itself. The sad thing promoters are the ones making hordes of money while taking little to no risk in a fight. IMO!

Oh, Dlh did fight with heart and pride...all fighters who fought on his level did. I'm glad he didn't give Margs a payday.

Translation: "Why aren't you paying me that money Oscar???? Please!!!"

LOL...told you man, Oscar is in a position to **** people if they **** with him. Not saying it's right, but it is what it is.

And business wise, though many of you Margarito fans won't care, Oscar vs Margarito wouldn't do a quarter of the sales that Pac vs Oscar will. You can say "**** PPV sales and ticket buys", but in reality, that's what Boxing's always been...putting asses in seats.

Margarito needs to STFU and fight Williams or Clottey. There are no other fights that make more sense than that.
Margarito is pathetic. Never heard a guy cry as much as this *******.
