If every fight was a boxing match would boxing be cancelled?

Something i was thinking about earlier today. If every fight was a fight like a Calderon/Mayweather/Guzman fights were its pure boxing science in play would it be just canceled and kept from being on tv? In other words Mayweather-Baldomir and never fight of the year fights on tv.
Mayweather can be...well, annoying, sometimes, but it's his mouth, and his reluctance to take on more appropriate challengers that bugs me, not his style, really, though again...it can annoy me on occasion.
I've seen two guys who can really **** in the ring together that turns into a worse snoozefest even than anything Mayweather has ever done. The idea is to hit, but not get hit. Many fans and boxers alike (especially Mexicans...for some reason they think it ain't a fight unless two guys are standing in the middle of the ring checking chins) seem to forget that.
Anyway, no, I doubt it would be cancelled, but it would lose alot of the "great unwashed" as fans...they're the ones that think it has to be a bloody grudge match to be a good fight, and don't understand the concept of honor, sportsmanship, courage, dedication, ethics...all those little nonsensical things that mean something to a few of us.Comment

As boxing fans we really should be able to appreciate a variety of styles, it is after all a sport, presumably involving technique. In this case I am amazed at Calderon's ability to slip punches and time his opponent, I think he's incredible to watch.Comment
