i cant recall to many fighters as old as that being able to fight at that kind of pace mind you they are of the lighter weights so maybe its slightly easier for them to Sustain than it would be for the likes of Hopkins,Jones who operate in a heavier weight class

Maybe so, but even the lighter weight guys shouldn't have been able to keep it up the way they did, it was a pleasant surprise.

Randall was also in his mid 30's. With the recent performances of Bernard Hopkins and others, many seem to forget that the average boxer starts to decline in his 30's.

Randall was already a 13 year pro by the time he fought Chavez.

I'm about to watch Chavez-Randall 1, As for the second fight I can't remember how I had it. One thing we can say pretty clearly is that Randall had Chavez' number.

Randall beat Chavez in both fights.

Anyone remember the 1st fight post fight interviews , where chavez was threatening to take richard steele to court.Chavez blamed Steele for his loss, I guess he forgot that Steele saved him in the Meldrick taylor fight.

Chavez actually would have won their first fight if he hadnt lost so many points for low blows.
and the second fight was very close, if you had Randall winning he should have been only one round ahead.

Randall was a bad style matchup for Chavez anyway tho. Chavez actually could be outpointed pretty badly by volume punchers, and he would lose rounds against those kind of guys even if they werent really in his league. he would usually put a hurting on them by the end of the fight, but he would still lose rounds because he was too inactive. thats how he was a lot of the time at 140 anyway. the combination of a bad style matchup+Chavez being on the decline didnt work out too well for Chavez.

                      Randall was a good fighter
I think he wouldve beaten everyone fighting at 140lbs right now. at his best, anyway.
