I think Roy's stamina is pretty decent for a 39 year old. I actually don't think stamina is a huge problem. Roy's legs are his biggest problem, he can't move like he use to.

boxing wise hes at his best now, like Hopkins was. but physically his prime was in his late 20's-early 30's I would think atleast...

He doesnt need the legs that used to have to win...

you guys are not getting the entire picture here....

Roy does not fight like he used to fight, he has a different style..

With prime roys style, he NEEDED his legs, he used his legs to get in and out, didge and evade punches... he doesnt have that style anymore... he uses a winky style now... he can be flat footed, with his guard up... block punches and sharply counter... he has more of a plodding defensive style with FAST and ACCURATE hands...

and him not having stamina is blown out of proportion... he has shown no fatigue in his last 3 fights....

are his last 3 fights the calibur of Joe Calzaghe? NO

but that isnt enough of evidence to say he DOESNT have the stamina, when you in fact have not seen him fatigued.

              new sig update.........loving it

              back to topic at hand:

Roy needs to be Roy........he has the arsenal to beat Joe, all he has to do is tighten up on D and make sure to capitalize on countering. Calzaghe throws a lot of punches which means there will be a lot of openings

I hope he turns back the clock though, but he ain't the same fighter he once was and Calzaghe is pretty much at his peak. This fight needed to happen years ago.

                I dunno?
rjj needs a bat or gun to beat calzaghe

I think you still think this fight is all about Roy, it isn't. Unless he becomes Hopkins overnight, Roy is going to need his legs against Joe, just as he needed them against Johnson in particular.

As for his stamina, sure I'm yet to see him exhausted in a recent fight, but I'm also yet to see him fighting hard and expending a lot of energy, again, something he is going to need.

I can't imagine it being very slick. What fight does he do that in?
