OK, lets agree that 1) Roy doesn't have the legs to aggressively control Calzaghe behind his jab and 2) that Roy doesn't have the stamina to fight hard for every minute of every round and 3) that it is unlikely Roy will KO Calzaghe.
If this is all true, then Roy needs to forget about out and out beating Calzaghe and simply find a way to make the rounds close, by making himself look good and Calzaghe look bad. I'd say the best way is to stay on his bike as much as possible, backing away from Calzaghe and trying to score with his still superior jab, and once or twice a round unleashing a decent combo to score 'cleaner, harder shots' points with the judges.
The problem with this is that it requires legs, just as a more aggressive fight would, and I'm not sure Roy has them.
Roy just needs to be Roy.....he has more talent in his left hook than Calzaghe has in his whole arsenal .......just kidding, but not completely.....Roy is the more talented boxer of the 2 and that should carry him in this one.....I look at it like this, If Roy had fought Calzaghe's opponents, he would be still undefeated to......but if Calzaghe had fought Roy's opponents, the man would have at least a couple of L's......so Roy just has to be Roy....he's better than Calzaghe in any era
