I don't think of anyone that picked Pacquiao as intelligent. It actually made very little sense that Pacquiao won that fight. Regardless of what people want to act like they knew going in, this was an upset. A huge upset. The biggest of the year.

      A 154lber losing...by stoppage to a 130lber.

That **** is not supposed to happen in boxing. Ever.

I've actually dropped Oscar far far far down my ATG list because of this and boosted Pacquiao sky high.

It's not even like a skilled former middleweight (Toney and Roy) going up and beating heavyweights. This is Oscar De La Hoya, who looked as good as ever against the best fighter in the world a year and a half ago, taking on a guy he outweighs by about 30 pounds.

One hook and this thing should be over
You don't know anything about boxing.

It was a mismatch on paper. Someone with that big of a size advantage and the skills of De La Hoya should never lose to a guy that small.

But if you told me Oscar weighed in LESS than Pacquiao on fight night, I'd do a little rethinking of the situation.

I don't know if Oscar realizes how bad this is going to destroy his legacy.

It actually made a lot of sense. We knew coming into the fight that Manny had a huge advantage in the speed department.

You can't hit what you can't catch.

The thing is, at this point in Oscar's career...his most diminished physical attributes are his speed and his reflexes.

So, if his speed is gone, how could he ever hit Manny ?

                and...

If his reflexes were shot...how could he get out of the way of any of Manny's punches ?

                It really wasn't that difficult.

How could you tell he had diminished speed and reflexes? The Forbes fight? Because he looked great in the Mayweather fight and fought as well as he ever could have against Floyd.

I didn't put a lot of merit in the Forbes fight because Oscar had nothing to get up for. It was Steve Forbes...

Because speed and reflexes are what tend to diminish most in aging fighters.

I wouldn't mind if people picked Pacquiao on the basis that they thought Oscar was shot, but nobody was saying that. Most people who picked Pacquiao thought he could school a 154lb Oscar (not mentioning that he was shot or anything). That's not what happened at all.

He whooped what looked like either a weight drained or shot De La Hoya who looked nothing like the guy who fought Floyd a year and a half ago.
