A recessive gene, one from each of his parents, just happened to line up and he got the green/blue/who****ingcares eyes. Incidentally, that gene comes from Europe, not Africa (light color eyes would be a drawback in Africa and was most likely extinct there a couple of hundred thousand years ago), and isn't inherent to blacks, which means that both his parents have at least someone in their fairly recent ancestry (5 to 10 generations or less) that was white, allowing those genes to pass on to them, and then to Shane. Probably came with the high, squeeky voice he's got. *********
