Is this in reference to Leonard vs. Quartey? If so I agree that Ike has a great jab but he is so far behind Leonard in every other category. To me that means Quartey's great jab will not be enough to keep him in the fight with Leonard. One great weapon against a opponent who also has a great jab to go along with everything else to me puts you at a huge disadvantage.

A lot to prove????????????????? Come on man...beating Tommy Hearns at the time he beat him and in the manner he beat him and he still had something to prove? Beating Benitez? Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the few fighters in history who had NOTHING TO PROVE to anybody. His greatness is solidified several times over

Agreed, he did everything he needed to in order to cement his place as one of the top 10 greatest fighters of all time (I have him easily in my top 5). He was hated by many in his day, but his selection of opponents and his ring performances eclipse that entirely.

With the way De la Hoya was out boxing Trinidad what makes people think Leonard vs. Trinidad would be good fight?

Even though De la Hoya was getting credit for a lot of **** that wasn't landing in the Trinidad fight Trinidad was still barely doing **** to De la Hoya?
I am fan of Trinidad but Leonard would beat the hell of him easily.

But Leonard defense and reflexes was miles ahead of De la Hoya so it wouldn't be like he would be a target for Trinidad. I understand punchers chance but in this fight that **** is slim to none for me and slim left town.

You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Hearns/Leonard. Hearns easily had more power than Trinidad, and was a far more skilled fighter. Leonard/Trinidad would be a total blowout, with Tito being KO'd before mid-rounds.

How good would prime 147 pound Ray Leonard of 1979-1982 be in this particular era. You can go back as far as 2000 if you want. So here are some fighters he would have had to face

Ike Quartey - In his prime at 147

Oscar - In his prime at 147

                      Shane Mosley - 147 pounds

                      Vernon Forrest - 147 pounds

                      Tito Trinidad - 147 pounds

Floyd Mayweather jr - 147 pounds

                      Antonio Margarito - 147 pounds
i like srl over all of them
