When did Calzaghe past his prime??

It doesn't matter if he has less hand speed or power now. He's a much fighter than when he did have more of those attributes. Calzaghe is a late bloomer imo. Just like Lennox Lewis, his pure physical prime ended before he was at his best.
His performance against Kessler was the best in his career. That was only 2 fights ago, so this confirms my theory. And of cource unfortunately for him he ran into Hopkins, and I doubt he's the same now.

I feel he was at his best from 2005 till now.
His performance against Hopkins is misleading because Hopkins makes everyone look bad. The move up in weight might of even affected him. His performance against Jones will identify if Calzaghe is still in his prime or now past it.
Roy's hand speed will overwhelm Calzaghe like none before!

I do think he looked a bit sluggish though, I thought he didn't carry the extra weight very well. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just a question...
Those of you who say calzaghe is still prime, which old fights of his have you seen? It is impossible to conclude that Calzaghe is still as physicaly able as he once was, he is slower and less powerful than he used to be by a country mile.

Then, on top of that, Hopkins style is the Anti-Calzaghe, He has the style to make him look bad. I hope he looks back on form against Jones as he might not retire then, and maybe fight Pavlik!

The Hopkins that beat Trinidad was not the same Hopkins that beat Segundo Mercado, he'd lost something but gained something too.
The Hopkins that beat Tarver was not the same Hopkins that beat Trinidad, again, he'd lost something, but gained something too.
Exactly the same thing with Joe.
