a lot of guys have fought tougher fights and worked a lot harder than oscar. i know he gets paid well because of his popularity and him fighting other popular fighters but i'm talking about what he gets paid for what he does compared to what others do. guys who have fought 30-40 fights wouldn't even come close to what oscar makes in ONE fight.
manny pacquiao is not good. he's just okay. he picks on old fighters and smaller fighters. manny is a natural welterweight who used to weight drain to flyweight.
what pac natural WW???
any boxer at flyweight fly through WW??
why are you so angry with pac pare???
he deserves big money and history....
hayaan mo na si pac... sya bahala sa buhay nya.. ala ka naman magagawa
kung gusto nila..
manood ka na lang.. ingay mo ehComment

not mad at manny.
i'm just saying **** everyone says in this forum or others i've been on.
just grouchy with all the ****** manny threads today.
felt like making my own manny thread.
i don't blame manny for taking the fight. i'm actually gonna buy it. i think it's worth buying.
i'm kinda disappointed because it's 50/50 now that we won't see guzman-pac or joel-pac or nate-pac or juan-pac but i'm not blaming manny. he has to go with the money. we all would.
just tired of all these people bitching about it. you and i both know all these ****ers whining will be the same ones asking their friends "are you gonna buy the fight?" so they can watch it or they'll be on here , "where can i see the fight? any sopcast?"Comment

i can't help it , steel.
i know manny will lose but i'm curious to see how competitive he is.
if manny doesn't get blown out right away i'd consider it a moral victory for manny.Comment

Yeah, you make good points Tua. But I just don't see it as a fair fight. I don't blame Pacquiao. How can anyone accuse Pac of ducking when he is willing to fight someone 3 divisions above him?not mad at manny.

It's silly when people say that he is ducking Guzman and Marquez, because even if he lost those fights, it would be a close decision, and Pac would probably look less beat up than his opponent at the final bell. The most likely outcome against DLH is a KO defeat.
But I do think that DLH should be criticised. He has the power to get a fight with anyone, and he chooses someone much smaller than himself.
I honestly think that DLH vs Roy Jones would be a fairer fight than this. And that fight would sell a lot. And Roy is at a similar stage of his career too. I know that Roy is busy with Zag, but DLH wouldn't be willing to fight him anyway. He wants a big money, for the easiest win possible.
I also think that part of it is disappointment from people that expected better from fishnets boy. I used to be a big fan of DLH as a fighter, and after all the BS from people like Don King and Frank Warren, I thought that he might improve boxing as a promoter. But now I dislike him and hope that Pacquiao KOs him.
I have always liked Freddie Roach too. He refused to train Wayne McCollough because of fears over his health, and seems to have done the same about Hopkins fighting Pavlik.
But yet he's willing to do this fight? Maybe the $$$ had nothing to do with Roach's decision, but I'm not so sure. You risk your health everytime you step into the ring, and the risk is much greater when you are against a bigger guy. Especially when you are an attacking fighter like Manny, who will probably keep coming forward, taking shots, and refuse to quit.
I just see it that the biggest fight of the year will be a mismatch, and that isn't good for our sport. I also don't think it's good that the P4P#1 guy might get KO'd and not be the same quality of fighter again.
I will probably watch the fight, and I hope Manny pulls off the upset. It's possible of course. But I much would've preferred for them both to fight people from their own weight.Last edited by Clegg; 08-27-2008, 10:39 PM.Comment
