It was a very close fight but I had Floyd just ahead. Really could have gone either way though.

I don't know how a fighter can lose the first 5 rounds of a fight, and have a point deducted, and still win a decision.

People tend to think Castillo won, because he inflicted more damage in the fight. Sorry fights are scored on a round by round basis, Floyd winning a round landing 10 punches to Castillo`s 3 punches is worth just as much as Castillo winning a round landing 20+ power punches.

        Mayweather 114-112
        Rounds: 1,2,3,4,5,9,11

        Castillo: 6,7,8,10,12

Nice post. This is a pretty accurate assessment both of the fight itself and how it is perceived.

And as far as Lederman scoring Mayweather fights goes:

He had Chavez up one or even going into the 9th round before Floyd KO`d him, and was beating him up all night. In fact, prior to the KO, only one judge had given Chavez more than a single round. Even Lampley and Merchant were laughing at him.

Look at the Hatton fight. He gave Hatton what, something like 5 rounds.

Lederman has one criteria by which he scores fight - aggression. And he couldn't care less if it is effective or not.

I find it interesting that you mention Castillo's point deduction but not Mayweather's.

Why does it seem anyone from Britain clearly tries to insult Mayweather is it cause he knocked out there only decent fighter besides Calzaghe.
