Could he have been the greatest Cruiserweight of all time?

    Opinions?

He became National Champion at heavyweight at the age of 15 in 1988.

He won a Bronze medal at heavyweight in the World Amateur Championships in 1991.

He won a Bronze medal at heavyweight in the Olympics in 1992.

He stands 5 foot 10 and was 204 lbs. in his first couple fights at heavyweight.

He easily could've made the cruiserweight limit of 190 lbs. (and later on 200 lbs.)

He went 49-3-1 as a heavyweight despite being extremely short for that weight class.

He could've easily beat the cruiserweight champions of the time he made his debut. I have no doubt he'd have beat guys like Wamba (WBC) , Norris (WBA) , Cole (IBF) and Rocchigianni (WBO) and I can't see how he woudn't have been able to reign for years defending against guys like Jirov , Gomez , Hill , Bell , Mayfield , Mormeck , Tiozzo , Miller , etc.

Not if Evander had stayed at CW.

Hey LHT, weren't you making fun of people proud of calling Calzaghe the greatest SMW of all time? How long has CW been around again?

Plus Tua has had trouble making 230 for a long time. He would probably have been a HW champion had he been about to stay about 225. Thinking he ever could have stayed at 200 for a career is ridiculous.

If Evander and Tua both had stayed at CW, Evander would have been the greatest. IMO But since Evander didn't and if Tua had stayed, then yes maybe so. Tua would have been the Tyson of that division.

evander stopped fighting at cruiser in the late 80's. tua made his debut at pro in late 1992.

cruiserweight came before super middleweight , bud. look it up. not by much but it's older than 168.

plus i wasn't making fun of them for calling joe the greatest super middleweight at all time. joe probably is.

fighting in the cruiserweight division would've probably been better for tua. he didn't have to watch his weight at heavy.

while watching his weight he could've walked around at 210-220 and still make weight at cruiser.

I don't think Tua coulda stayed at CW long enough to make a craeer out of it.

                it's a hypothetical question obviously.

it assumes if tua stayed at cruiser since heavyweight in the ams has the same weight limit of the cruiserweight division now.

for the guys that say no.

don't vote against tua just because you don't like his nuthugger.

the question is hypothetical and assumes if he stayed at cruiserweight......name a cruiserweight between 1992-now who could've beaten him.

don't just vote no. post why you voted the way you did.
