He had one of the best right hands I've ever seen, his left hook was a very dangerous punch as well, the Mike Quarry knockout was scary.
You obviously never saw him at 175....where he KO'd numerous people with one punch. Go back & check some old magazines....Spinks was the conscensus choice as the sport's best puncher during the early 80's (along with Hearns)

At 175 lbs, only Foster hit harder (& yes, that includes Archie Moore)
I don't think there was a harder puncher outside the heavyweight division, and that includes cruiserweights. Foster could hit.

haye is not a hype job

have a look at his record on boxrec, he has stepped up from the start, every fight was bringing something new to the table on his 11th fight he was fighting a guy who just lost the wbo belt in carl thompson and was destroying him before he shot his bolt and decided to stop pissing it up and partying he changed his life style and every fight has been harder

he deserves respect no belittling of hayes a puff yawn!!!!

haye vs wlad is a tough decision because wlad seems to have the perfect and robotic style to really bring haye alive, haye is quick and strong and has very strong power he could knock wlad out with no problem at all but if it becomes a boxing fight then wlad should be able to grind out an ud poitns decision!!!!!!!!!!!!

P4P from the guys on this list, it's between Lennox and Wlad. I'll take Lennox.

Most (including myself) would say his left hook was definitely his biggest punch.
That's what he took Tiger, Quarry, & Rondon out with.

Can't believe I forgot about that one! Quarry was a tough top fighter back then, overshadowed by his brother. But like Jerry, may very well have been champion in another era. devastating ko! Quarry looked dead.

I agree it was his best power punch, but I always thought Fosters jab was the key to his success. Like most fighters, it set his power punches up. Unlike most fighters it seemed as if it was coming at you from a mile a way, but with uncanny speed and precision.
