You obviously never saw him at 175....where he KO'd numerous people with one punch. Go back & check some old magazines....Spinks was the conscensus choice as the sport's best puncher during the early 80's (along with Hearns)
At 175 lbs, only Foster hit harder (& yes, that includes Archie Moore)Comment

Michael Spinks could punch, he was a light heavyweight who went up to heavyweight and knocked out 6'6, 240 lb Gerry Cooney. He only came to pick up a paycheck against Mike Tyson.

They're just younger fans who probably aren't very aware of Spinks' accomplishments....& only know of him through Tyson.Comment
