Can any heavyweight right now beat Wladimir Klitschko?

Very unlikely. But with Wlad chin you never know and his Brewster loss could always happen (loss of stamina or whatever).Honestly, I don't think any can;
David Haye: Although we have not seen him at heavyweight yet (I don't care about Bonin, he was ****), I think he is just to open to beat Wlad. If he had a good chin, maybe, But he doesn't his chin is very bad. Wlad might be cautious early to avoid being caught by a big shot from Haye i see him winning by stoppage..
Samuel Peter: Wlad already beat him, beyond any doubt. And of the 3 knockdowns, only one should be counted anyway. You may say that Peter was green at the time, Wlad wasn't long off his loss to Brewster so was lower in confidence than he would be going into a rematch. I say Wlad wins a wide ass UD or late stoppage in a rematch
Ruslan Chagaev: Chagaev might cause Wlad some problems, But i think Wlad would just control the fight with his jab, similar to the Ibragimov fight. Chagaev has a good chin, so i don't know about a KO, but i am sure Wlad would win it.
Nicolay Valuev: I think Valuev would cause Wlad the most trouble out of the top heavies, He is taller than Wlad which is something new (Unless i have forgotten someone) and has recently began to improve on various areas. However, I still think he would be too slow and clumsy to beat Wlad and would lose on points.
Alexander Povetkin: Right now, I think he is just to green and way to open to right hands to make it 12 with Wlad, let alone beat him..
Sultan Ibragimov: Already beat him, I think a rematch would be pretty much the same except Wlad would probably step it up at some point and maybe stop Iggy
And so on...
Really, I can't see any heavyweight right now beating Wlad. Thoughts?Comment

the best way to beat wlad is to do what sanders did, lay it all on the line and throw bombs from the beginning.Nice new av
I agree, Valuev would be troublesome as he would be something Wlad hasn't encountered before. Haye has a chance early with his speed and power, But needs to improve his defense else he will be put to sleep. A few right hands and left hooks off Wlad and it's over.
The same could be said the other way, Except Wlad will be able to catch Haye easier than Haye wil catch Wlad IMO.
If it goes past 5-6 rounds. Haye will be KTFO...
i actually see chagaev giving wlad more trouble than valuev, but thats just me, i still think hed get beat. valuev would get knocked out, if ruiz can land clean shots on valuev, klitschko definitely can. and valuev, even for as huge as he is, has no power to be honest. i guess he might could give wlad trouble but, it would definitely be a bigger they are harder they fall situation.
good thread, but IMO if one fighter WAS to beat wlad, it would be peter, i think peter looked his best against wlad... also i dont know where people get the idea that peter is the hardest hitter in the heavyweight division, i personally think wlads left hook/straight right > anything in peters arsenal. with that said, peter is still a power puncher, if he were to bullrush wlad in the first round and throw every punch he possibly could he MIGHT have a slim chance of catching wlad, cause peter has the best chin in the division right now and he could take enough shots to have a decent chance at landing a big one, but he would definitely eat alot of them.
just my 2 centsComment

Sorry, wrong thread
[EDIT: Sorry for putting this back here, but I hate to type **** up for no reason, so just deal with it]
I really don't think Peter has the best chin in the division. His beard isn't what I'd call shakey, but he has been hurt before, seriously. That left hook Wlad caught him with had him in huge trouble, and the punch wasn't even really thrown with conviction. Against Vitali, I can easily see him constantly catching that short hook/jab/uppercut thing that Klitchko throws so frequently and expertly, and getting hurt by it. The only way he'll be able to keep from getting caught by it would be to try and keep outside it's range and box Klitchko, and this would be a guaranteed loss...probably even a late KO after a boring 8 or 10 rounds, as I don't believe Peter has the gas to use his legs like that for more than a few rounds.
No, I have a gut feeling that Klitchko will jump on Peter early and give him a Johnsonesque beatdown. It'll be all over by the opening bell of the 5th, at the latest.
Anyway, Vitali probably has claim on the toughest beard, but he hasn't really been in the division until recently, and then only factually, not in actuality.Last edited by Stickman; 09-19-2008, 09:55 AM.Comment

After seeing Valuev-Ruiz 2 I don't see Valuev giving him many problems. And a Ruiz right hand stunned him, a Wlad right hand or left hook would be able to take him out. Chagaev has the style to beat him, or at least cause him trouble, but I think a fighter who comes out fast like Sanders (As you said) did would have the best chance.
Peters chin doesn't seem as good now though, getting dropped 3 times by McCline. I suppose they were uppercuts though, a shot Wlad doesn't use a lot. I think Klitschko-Peter 2 ends with a Late TKO for Wlad.Comment

do you think klitschkos left or right is more powerful? i used to say his right but, god damn his left is ****ing monstrous.Comment

definitely was an uppercut that knocked him down
you are right about peters chin, i dont see how he took all those shots against wlad and then goes down on that measley uppercut. lets put it this way, the peter that showed up the first time against wlad has the best chin in this division.
think toney will ever get a crack at the klitschkos?
ive always wanted to see him get put out.
edit:
mccline has the worst stamina ive ever seenLast edited by kenso; 09-19-2008, 03:11 PM.Comment
