that may be the case but the TYPE of style and chin that he has, I still say that NO ONE is going to DESTROY him. He may get out classed and out boxed, but NO ONE is going to DESTROY him...thats my story and im sticking to it...but I hear you

Gomez posed no challenge whats so ever, and Gomez really talked alot before the fight - he simply dominated. and for good reason.

Cotto was pleased with his performance and feels he can beat Margarito in a rematch.

In recent interviews he has been claiming he plans on rematching Margarito by the end of 2009.

Which would work in his favor Margarito would get older, Cotto would regain his confidence with a couple tune-up fights.

Rematch comes and it could be in favor of a determined Cotto
        karma on D way

People need to stop this **** about Cotto standing his ground and goin toe to toe - WRONG Idea! Marg took EVERYTHING Cotto had clean to the head and wasnt fased at all, this is 1 muther ****er that just aint gettin hurt at WW!
And as Cotto himself said the bodyshots just werent there, Margs Elbows were always down, some guys just vulnerable for certain shots.

What he NEEDS to do is the same **** again coz he was absaloutly Majestic at times in there only this time stop being such a proud bastard and tie Marg up to nulify his attack and more importantly geyt himself a breather.
Throw his punches with LESS power (waste of energy they didnt discourge Tony anyway) and instead throw more quick bursts of snappy little shots.
Stay off the ropes a bit more if he can tho that could be easier said than done.
And finally hope to **** his nose dont get bust again coz i think it played a major part in his down fall, to fight THAT fight against a fighter like ANTONIO MARGARITO u just NEED to have ur breathing spot on, conditioning is Huge against Marg!

I saw Cotto try to take a stand in there early in the rounds with Marg, and couldn't hang. He almost went down in the second round. Cotto was making adjustments, boxing and fighting, but nothing was working. Cotto fought an awesome fight in his right, but a rematch would be life threatening for Cotto. Marg beat Cotto mentally and physically. That is why Cotto decide not to continue and not even mention a rematch. I think Cotto's performance is being degraded because of his lost and I understand the bitterness of a beloved fighters defeat, but he shouldn't be disrespect. Cotto fought the best he possibly could. A rematch Cotto will be coming in as damaged goods and Marg will come in much more motivated and that is a scary thought on Cotto's health. So I will have to say definitely no.

Why will Marg be more motivated?

Cotto was doing fine against Marg, but as the fight went along his breathing problems got worse and that combined with Margaritos pressuere wore him down. It wasn't a beatdown like people want to make it seem. Cotto will come back stronger than ever and he will take the rematch
