He should go to the body SMARTLY, and learn to stay off the ROPES. Always touch and move, touch and move, avoid body shots and keep off the ropes. He was doing fine until he stayed on the ropes and took punishment. If he works all that out, he can come out with a decision in the end. and redemption..

Cotto got what was coming to him, he started trying that ****y **** against Gomez & he paid for it in the next fight. Cotto is still a good fighter. Margarito is good as well. Thats just it, a good fighter lost to a good fighter, niether are great at this point.

Marg wouldn't be able to fight top fighters in 154-160. Why you think he's still at Welterweight ?

                From what it sounds like.

Cotto was pleased with his performance and feels he can beat Margarito in a rematch.

In recent interviews he has been claiming he plans on rematching Margarito by the end of 2009.

Which would work in his favor Margarito would get older, Cotto would regain his confidence with a couple tune-up fights.

Rematch comes and it could be in favor of a determined Cotto

Cotto has an outside chance to beat Margs. He has to sit down more. He ran too much in their fight. He has to train harder to use defense. He has to train to roll with punches, and he has to attack the body and move. Margs is a very underrated defensive fighter. He gets hit, but he knows how to roll with punches. Cotto didn't. He never had to worry about that. If I were advising Cotto, I'd go right back into the rematch. Others might make him fight a tune up or two. Cotto is in a tough position because he trained hard, and lost badly. I'd throw him right back into the lions den. If he is a great fighter, he'll change his tactics and get a new trainer also. He doesn't have to run from Margs.
