Roy is NOT shot

Considering what he used to be, and what he is now, I'd consider him shot. Maybe still superior to anyone but the very elite in his weight classes, but when you think about how seemingly invincible he used to be, yeah, he's shot. I mean, come on, Glencoffe Johnson KO'd Roy...I like Johnson, he's got a fantastic work ethic, he's always in shape, but his speed (compared to Roy even now) is abysmal. Just a few years ago, he wouldn't have landed anything but a few jabs throughout 12 rounds against Roy, who would've made him look like an amature.
And I don't think it's all caused by Roy's age, either. I think alot of it was caused by him coming down in weight too far, too fast, to take on Tarver. You lose that much muscle mass after wearing it for so long, it does bad things to you. He should've tried to get Tarver to come to a higher catch weight, maybe a 185 to 190 pound cap. 175 was just too much. Tarver is just arrogant enough he probably would've agreed.
after he regained the LHW championship... that was it.. legacy completed, sealed, stamped... the rest is history.Comment

Honestly I saw alot of good things in the Hanshaw fight. There were alot of flashes of the old Roy in that fight. IMO. Roy needs to come into the Calzaghe fight warmed up. Roy is better after round 3 now, he needs to get a sweat going...thats one thing i've noticed in his past three fights.Comment

yeah, i think roy had the idea of getting knocked out on his mind the whole time against Glen Johnson. So he didn't fight like himself, he wasn't ready to fight at that point. Plus Hurricane Katrina ruined his farm and he had to move his training camp.

say what you want but hanshaw made roy work hard for 12 rounds... which was a good thing... roy got some good practice in on the ropes, and instead of laying on the ropes covering up and getting punched like in the tarver fights... he was actually practiving rolling/blocking and countering..
in the tito fight he practiced more center of the ring boxing, and some of the old combinations he used to throw...
for 39, you cant be anything but impressedComment
