I think Joe wins rather easily. Roy will try to dance and be flashy, but Joe should win 8-9 rounds in a snoozer.

It's the age of the fighter's more then anything, I guess. Neither is at their best. But I will grant you that Roy gets a lot more credit for beating Zags, then if Zags beats Jones. It's unfair, but it's just kinda of how the perception of the situation is panning out, at least in my eyes.
No Joe hate.

I will give Roy ALOT more credit than calzaghe for the win.
Roy is SHOT, Calzaghe is on the slide.

Comfortable but not easy win for Calzaghe.
After the first 6 rounds, it's either 4-2 to Jones or 3-3. Jones has been clever, boxing off the ropes, waiting for Calzaghe to get wild and landing sharp counter punches. Calzaghe sneaks a few in this period purely on workrate.
From round 7 onwards Calzaghe dominates, winning 5-1. Jones doesn't have enough in the tank, Calzaghe has taken to boxing Jones rather than swarming him and the sharp counter punches are now coming from Calzaghe as Jones realises the fight is slipping away.
So my prediction is either 7-5 to Calzaghe or 8-4 to Calzaghe. Competitive, but not close. It's a physical problem for Jones, not a technical one. I just don't think he has enough in the tank to beat Calzaghe over 12 rounds. The only way I see him winning is by a stoppage, but I don't consider that very likely.
How should it go down on Calzaghe's resume? As a very respectable win, but when considered in context, not career-defining at all. Not that I'm sure Pavlik will look too much better historically, but for now it would have been the more creditable fight.

Therefore, unless your boxing knowledge is terrible, If Calzaghe beats Jones, he proves you wrong.
The question was not "Who do you WANT to win, but Who WILL win"

Like I told Silencers in another thread, my bet with Precision on Roy stopping Zags is more of a 'feel" type of thing. Or maybe wishful thinking.
But I can see your scenario happening VERY easily. Really, Joe UD 12 over Jones is the smart play. No one ever said I was smart, though...

Good point, this fight will be a great one. Some people should stop making this fight look like nothing. It's a huge fight.
My thought go with Calzaghe, he'll take this. But it will be a great fight, I don't think we will see complete dominance from either fighters.

But I agree with you, Roy isn't in his prime. But I don't think Joe is at his best either, I think it's a fair fight for both parts.
