That's not true. Hell, Gerald barely got paid for his fight with Benn. Only the real big names get paid well, and that's only recently.

Anyone who believes in karma should take a long look at Don King and see how he is doing after all the atrocities he has committed. There is no such a thing.
    McClellan got used and abandoned.

    Great post Clegg.

    • This makes its rounds every couple of years. Surprised anyone notices it anymore.

Hey animals should be treated with just as much respect as humans.

It's a bit hypocritical for boxing fans to act as if dog fighting fans are evil, especially considering the pleasure the some people took from seeing Cotto and others take a beating in the recent past.

If you look at George Foreman in the 70s, he seemed like a really mean guy. But look at him now, one of the most friendly, charismatic people in the sport. You never know what someone is really like if you only see them on TV, and so I wouldn't judge Gerald, even though I disagree with dog-fighting.
If gerald had his arms tied up similar to how the dog had its mouth taped up, then you would have a valid argument. However you don't as you're making out that the dog fought the other dog legally fair and square, when really it was a butchery.

I stated that I disagree with dog fighting. I obviously don't disagree with boxing, or else I wouldn't be a fan. From that it is hopefully clear that I don't regard them as being on the same level, but I do think that a comparison can be drawn in certain respects, especially when you consider that I am comparing the people who watch the two sports rather than those that participate in them.

They aren't identical, but IMO there are similarities that are worth mentioning.

I'm not trying to insult anyone; others are entitled to their opinion, but I disagree, that's all.

                I'm with you.

I don't fight dogs, but people who do don't bother me at all.

Then you're even more of a tool than I thought you were. Dog fighting is fucking barbaric.

                    • Gerald had some serious problems and a dark bad side to him. I still find it hard to watch him nowadays and have sympathy.

Among boxers, there's other fighters more deserving of a fate such as that than Gerald (of what he know).

People like Jake LaMotta, Jo-El Scott, James Scott, Mike Tyson (if he was guilty of that crime) did worse things than fight dogs.
