Margarito is overrated, and the WW is Mediocre.

It's the toughest division in boxing bar none. The majority residing in the Top Ten will easily beat B opponents and demolish C+ and under fighters right now. If there was only one dominant fighter like in the heavyweights then the consensus will be that the entire division is crap and no one poses a challenge.

It seems a lot of the recent complaints happened because of Margarito upsetting Cotto and turning the division on its head by being the best at 147. Now that Tony is the king the illogical conclusion is that Welterweight is crap because of someone like him is considered the best.

exactly.. it's these dumb little groupies who think that because someone has 5 loses someone is over rated or because they are not a defensive boxer that there is no way he can be number one or be that good. For some reason these idiots view defensive boxing as being smart and everything else as not but they are wrong.. defenseive boxing isn't the only thing that wins fights and skills don't always pay the bills especially when someone has a granite chin, high output and the heart of a lion. The division is fine the way it is and there are still lots of great fights to be made. Hell if Margarito is soo over rated how come he beat Clottey, and that b.s. about him being injured is just b.s. because Margo was injured too.. how come the Williams Margarito fight was so close and had he started earlier he might have won and how come he beat my boy Cotto? I think it's just jealousy, honestly...

Dude Cotto, not in the mix right now he's got to get a tune up and all that bull**** then, if everything goes right they might schedule a rematch or him vs a decent fighter which will take up to 6 months..

But I agree with you The Marketability of Margarito in the WW is very slim, you can only really hype him up for a Williams Rematch a Cotto Rematch or a match up with Mosley.

Me nope, I wasn't a member at the time. Crazy to call someone a BUM not understanding how hard it is to land a clean shot on Winky. Tito's best weight is WW and he'd be among the tops if he didn't move up. Don't get me wrong he is a strong MW (As we've seen against William Joppy) but as a WW...he is a BEAST. I wonder what would be of Tito if he didn't move up.
