People concentrate on undefeated records too much. now that Cotto's 0 is gone, they dont care about him. a real shame. styles make fights, and Margarito was just the wrong kind of guy for Cotto in a lot of ways...stamina, Cottos weakness for uppercuts, Cotto's so-so chin, etc.

I want him to fight Williams...after all, he should be his mandatory. I think thats a great fight

It will happen...just maybe not as soon as we'd like it to. But it will come!

A Cotto-Willams fight would be ON POINT!!..

If Cotto gets rid of Cintron his next fight should DEF be WILLIAMS..

that'll determine who really deserves the rematch..

Williams vs Cotto, winner fights Margarito again for the #1 WW?

im not sure what tactics he would have to use to win, but in my opinion he should rule a knockout out and go for the points descision, he would have to be EXTREMELY lucky to stop Marg unless it was an absolute peach of a body shot.
I honestly think the SINGLE most important thing that could have turned the fight in Cotto's favor was: The Clinch. I think he just tired himself out too much by using his footwork the whole fight. His whole strategy was to land hard and clean during those flurries when he set his feet, then get some space and keep making Marg readjust, repeat. I don't think it was a bad gameplan, it's just that his tank ran out before the final bell rang. If he would have just CLINCHED instead of moving his feet after just HALF of those exchanges, I think it could have been a different outcome.

/not biased towards either Marg or Cotto, just saying from a tactical standpoint.

you saw what Quintana did to Williams in the first match, right?
You saw how effective Cotto was for a good sized portion of the Margarito fight, right?

that doesnt mean Cotto would win, but he certainly has the tools to win. Do you think that Williams would be able to stand up to the kind of punishment that Cotto was landing on Margarito? but then again, would Cotto be able to land that kind of punishment on Williams at all?

these are questions that promise an entertaining fight. I aint seen Cotto in a bad fight...I aint seen Williams in a bad fight. should work out well to me.

Cotto is as good as were he got. I didn't expect anything spectacular from him. I thought he was an A- fighter. I still have beating all other a- and b fighters. I did not overrate him. He's has a lot of heart. I think he still needs to work on a couple of things.

Cotto v Williams would be an interesting style matchup. I honestly think Cotto is the best technical boxer in terms of all around skill in the welters right now. He has good gameplanning and he's pretty smart in his ability to adjust midfight. It's just unfortunate for him that Marg's chin happened to be made of ****in diamond. That said though, I think it'd be an entertaining matchup to watch Cotto try and outbox the taller Williams.

Just the anticipation to get to the top (margarito) alone would be drama in itself..

And I'm sure Cotto would come wit the correct game plan that he should've came with Margs against Williams.

                      Prepared for the non-stop pressure..Bigger/Taller opponent..and a SOLID puncher..

I think Cotto's Power and Work to the body would be very effective in this match-up..

but than again if he didn't perfect the correct style to fight the bigger and taller non-stop pressure fighter than Cotto's weakness is just exposed and there is no bounce back from that IMO..

It'll be a make or break fight more for Cotto than for Williams..
