"Natural Weight" is often used as either an excuse for a loss or for added pown with a win. For example some people might say that Hatton only lost to Mayweather because he was above his "natural weight" (I don't buy this incidentally). Or people might say that Pac's win over Diaz is worth more than it is because Pac was fighting at 135 lbs and everyone knows that Pacquiao only weights seventeen ounces between fights.

Alternatiely "Natural Weight" is used as a means of discrediting a win and diminishing an achievement. For example "Margarito only beat Cotto because he should be at Super Heavyweight because he is so huge". The other side of this ugly coin is again used for added pown over a losing fighter. "Lulz David Haye got knocked out by Carl Thompson who is a former Bantamweight and had to wear lead underpants to weigh in!".

What kind of answers are you looking for.

Natural weight is where you don't have to lose too much weight to make weight or add too much weight to be close to that weightclass. That's it. That's natural weight! Natural weight also means that you are not underweight, or overweight for your age and height!

Go to a f**kin' doctor and he'll have a chart of where you're suppose to be according to your age and height. He'll have an answer for you in a matter of seconds, on what your natural weight is!

What about Williams, in his picture he looks made of muscle but no body fat at all. If he makes 147 no probs is that his natural weight

Then, what does that make the Cintron, Williams, margo, Clottey, etc?

                  Isn't "natural" and "now" contradictory?

I don’t know why people say Williams is starving himself. I see a lot of people that tall and skinny and have no health issues

True, but they are not professional athletes who need to be in excellent condition. If you are skinny and begin training full-time for a boxing career, you will put on weight.

In my opinion if Williams(or Margarito or anyone else) comes into a fight weighing more than their opponent than that gives them an unfair advantage.

If you watch Margarito-Santos 2, Santos actually weighed 170 on fight night. I simply don't agree with the idea of a WW moving up in weight to fight at 154, and having to fight a LHW instead. Margarito himself was 160 that night, but if it had been Mayweather then that fight would've been a serious mismatch in terms of size.

Who is to say how healthy Williams feels when weighing at 147? We can never tell if he gains 7lbs or more by the time of the fight.
