Guys like Eubank, Watson and Graham had good defense in general.

LOL Hamed was awfull it became worse because his competition level improved

Graham had a good defence Julian Jackson did'nt have much trouble hitting him with a wild hayemaker

Eubank had an awfull defence and terrible balance just like most British fighters

Your definition was like this: "open defensively pertains to usage of a guard -based defense I assumed"

In Ali's first reign he had a non-existent guard-based defense.

But it really doesn't matter. We don't need to argue. I know that you don't think Ali was bad defensively.

Hamed in his earlier years actually kept his hands up and used good head movement and feints.

Graham was putting on a boxing lesson against Jackson before getting hit by that shot, which was a Hail Mary desperation punch, before that Jackson hadn't caught Graham with anything.

Eubank got off balance when he threw, not when he was on the defensive, he was very good at slipping shots and blocking them with his gloves.

i dont know what that guy is talking about Bat the man not getting hit is not getting hit does it make any difference how you go about it if you dont sustain punishment then you must be doing something right defensively

Hamed was fighting cans on his way up like most fighters do

Graham got KTFO by Brewer and Jackson no more to be said

Eubank sustained punishemnt to the body and head all through his career most notably in his fights with Watson ,Benn ,Calzaghe ,Thompson ,Collins he was a mess defensively and paid the price many times for throwing when he was off balance

Just watch Hamed's defensive style in his earlier days, it was much better than it was when he left the Ingles.

Graham was past prime against Brewer, watch more of his fights. He was slick, Jackson caught him, what fighters don't get caught?

The Calzaghe, Thompson and Collins fights were when he was past his prime, Watson was a very good fighter.

Hamed and Eubank are the worst examples you could use for fighters with good defence
