which Boxers are more open defensively

open defensively pertains to usage of a guard -based defense I assumed
klitschko never gets hit we know this but he doesn't use a guard, but like you said footwork long arms and offense to not get hit.Comment

when I think of a great defensive fighter I think of a guy who can stand in the pocket with someone who can punch and not get hit.
klitschko doesnt do that. you dont see him weaving and using infighting techniques (because he's so goddamn big and moving the torso like that on him would be a waste of energy, and style because it would lead him to getting ko'd again) it would tire him out so you see him floating around like a modern ali these days...
I guess I am saying I think of klitschko as a great offensive fighter, more than anything he does defensively.Comment

Of course it depends on definition.
With the definition you assumed, Muhammad Ali would have the worst defense in boxing history.

It's not like British fighters in general have bad defense. Hamed had pretty good defense before he fell in love with his power but I agree, his defense became worse as his career went on.
Guys like Eubank, Watson and Graham had good defense in general.Comment

well i think of a good defensive fighter as a guy who does'nt sustain punishement and that is Wladimir Klitschko whether you appreicate the way he does it or notComment

Where you get that from? Can Klitschko stand on the ropes and take abuse like Ali could? Could Klitschko stand in the pocket and avoid shots like Ali? No...Klitschko relies on offense and speed/footwork and ring generalship to not get hit, not defensive maneuvers in close like Ali was capable of.Comment
