this is also a fight I want to see, after sotto dec 6 then hatton early 2009...

after that fight have a tournament for winners of campbell-guzman, casa-marquez, diaz-katsidis & PAC mid 2009

winners then close the year for the undisputed LW championship...

You're entitled to your opinion, this is what makes these pages enjoyable, to have well reasoned-out (comparatively speaking) positions for pro-and con-. Then, when you factor in the imponderable, it makes for fascinating conjecture and, later, results. As long as it doesn't get out of hand, as it sometimes does, descending into personal villifications.

It's hard, for me anyway, to know if Hatton is looking good or not, since he always seems to fight the same way, clinging like a leech around a guy's body or neck, and "waling" away with the other fist. The fact is, that he doesn't look his best against a "boxer" and walks all over a "fighter". Generally, that is.

As for you being 6'1" weighing, say 170 lbs,. as you hint, nothing wrong with that, except it doesn't indicate a physical past-time, like training, or a sport, although, if genetic, you could be a top welterweight at that height, as was Tommy Hearns, and many others. Bone density and structure chips in here (but not with "bone-chips"), and, since there have been successful (up to a point) heavyweights of say 5' 8" or 9" this is not praisworthy for you.

Laszlo Papp, arguably the best amateur ever, and an unbeaten professional European middleweight Champ (retired at just age 39) was only 5' 5".................

ZOCALO, I think you misname something.

ZOCALO, I don't think that Hatton has "significant weight problems" as you aver. He never has any difficulty in getting down to the weight he fights at, and remains strong. Therefore, correctly, he has NO WEIGHT PROBLEMS.

Castillo, and later, Corrales, had weight problems. Before Corrales fought Mayweather he probably lived on lettuce for weeks, and spent the whole day before, and the morning up to the weigh in, in a sweat-box, nearly collapsing at the scales. And he didn't make the weight the first time either.

If Hatton ate and drank less between fights he'd rise to a lot less than 180, but it seems he likes playing darts with the lads in the pub, and sampling the beer. At least it isn't chorus girls, whisky and VERY LATE nights, which is what ruins fighters.

Pacman is a styleistic nightmare for Hatton. Hatton is stronger but it wont matter because he will be eating left hands to get inside and he cuts easily. Hatton also will have someone who has the footspeed to make him miss and counter. I think Pac will take Hatton out in about 6 or 7 rounds.

Pac's best strength is his left, Hatton is wide open for the left all day. Peace out

Hatton and Soto will be tough fights for PAC. I can see why some fans think PAC will have good chance of winnin' against Ricky. Because Hatton's way of fighting is similar to that of David Diaz, but the similarities ends their.

Hatton is alot more talented, hits much harder and is bigger than D. Diaz. Hatton, even though sloppy at times with the way he lunges in, will be able to close in on PAC whereas Diaz was simply too slow. I pick Hatton against PAC.

Soto on the other hand, well, we all know what gives PAC problems, boxers. And Soto can box and pop, and knows how to use his size. I think Soto has an inside shot at PAC and wouldn't be all that surprise if he pulls off a mild upset against PAC. I'd give a slight edge to PAC on this one.

We saw Soto against a real quick fighter in Guzman, and for the first time, I saw Soto's vulnerabilities. Soto can box, but he himself looked like he had two left feet when Guzman gave him angles, and I think PAC's footspeed is on par with Guzman's, just not with the head movement. So, if PAC can sustain good lateral movement the way he did against Diaz, then Soto might look ordinary the way Joan made him look. PAC needs to avoid staying on the inside for too long against Soto, 'cause he doesn't have the same escape abilities like Guzman on the inside.

Ha! Not gonna happen, my man.
Anyway I dont know what happens when Pac and Hatton finally hook it up. We saw that Manny still as speed and power at 135, but Hatton is a career 140, and has only been KOed at 147. I could see Manny accumulating damage and stopping Hatton late, or Hatton bullying an mugging Manny for 12 rounds.
I have to see Hatton against Paulie, and Pac against Soto before I make my final opinion, but right now if I had to bet it would be Pac.

Ricky apparently hasn't been blooning to 180lbs, hes been with his bird watching tv and stuff apparently. Besides that, yes ricky has a similar style to diaz but hes a lot more talented, quicker, more accurate and powerful.
