I do find it odd how Americans whom travel the least feel equipped to say everyone else to come and travel to them.
Come the **** to where ever else in the world for christs sake, USA does not = world or the complete world of boxing.
A good few Americans had no problems coming over to the UK. Calzaghe wanted to fight in LA and now in NY. Quit the whining already.

What really annoys me is when that indiot Mundine comes out and says Pavlik is ducking him because he won't come to Australia to fight him...

I totally agree there mate. Where fights happen are a funny one and could do with some over hauling. I think more transparency is needed in the deal making of fights which to me seems is progressing. Then people can judge based on facts, what's happened and why. Osca's pissing me off right now demanding 70-30 off the p4p #1, saying he will fight Marg, then wont cos he's Mexican, then will again. Rings a bell I know, but Osca's acting like he's p4p #2 and king of boxing or summet. I think more fights should occur in more places, and hope that progresses too with increased globalisation. Is only good in helping us judge the best boxers - in the world.

I can remember at the time that Pavlik was regarded as a goodish MW guy, certainly nothing like now, probably much closer to Bika's level so I could imagine his name being thrown into the ring when Joe was looking for a tune-up type opponent that would get a litle notice in the US. It does make sense.
As for whether it is true or not, who knows?
EDIT: True by Joe starjammer, not you.

I can't believe this article simply because one was up and the other was down at the time. Pavlik was still getting his record in tact and had not fought anyone worthy opponents at the time. If this is true, then Calzaghe would really look bad. On espn shortly after the Miranda fight, Pavlik clearly stated that he is willing go to Wales to fight him.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 08-14-2008, 05:32 PM.
