Am sorry but Roy Jones doesn't get anywhere near the same stick as Calzaghe. Most boxing fans including Calzaghe fans would agree that Roy Jones is P4P one of the best fighters in the last 20 years if not ever? Calzaghe just about gets recognition for beating Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins.

What more do you want fans to give Calzaghe?

One can be overrated yet great and that is the problem some of you don't want to see.

I'm sure nearly everyone can accept that Joe C. is not only arguably the world's best fighter, but a modern great and a first ballot Hall of Famer. However, it seems as if his fans feel compelled to take him to lengths beyond that by overhyping Lacy, Eubank, Kessler and anyone else halfway decent that Calzaghe fought. All so they can put him on par with the Hopkins', Jones', etc.

That's where the problem lies.

Joe Calzaghe's legacy is secure. But if he wants to reach those heights, Kessler and a 43yr old Hops won't do it. And I think that is what many of us are trying to say.
