Not being an ass but as of lately, alot of Calzaghe fans are overhyping RJJ. I hope your awser is legit and doesn't have the purpose of making Calzaghe look better after he wins against the 40 year old.

Just to clear up in not a super nuthugging Calzaghe fan, the Joe in my boxing scene name is because Joe is my real name and not as in JoeCalzaghe2608. Also, Roy Jones has always been one of my favourite all time fighters.
I just give Calzaghe the respect he deserves, i don't care for ths Roy Jones fight it's a load of crap, Calzaghe should have faced Pavlik, or even retired because for me he has nothing else to prove. But other people seem to think he does...

Ali even in the twilight of his career never got KO'd. He fought much better competition and his jaw is made of the same material they use to make space shuttles. Even comparing Jones to Ali is ridiculous. Jones got KO'd 3 times by some less then great opponents. Ali was in the ring with Fraizer 3 times (KO % 72.9), George Foreman (KO % 83.9), Ken Norton(KO % 66) (fought with a broken jaw for 13 rounds), Sonny liston(KO % 72.2) (had subtance rubbed in his eyes and blinded him), Floyd patterson 2 times (KO % 62.5), Ernie Shavers (KO % 76.4). He reinvented himself over and over again and won the Heavy Weight Championship 4 times.

Now on the other hand Roy Jones of the 90's is defintely a P4P king and true elite fighter but the quality of his opponents is somewhat suspect. In fact he got KO'd by Tarver (KO % 61.9) and Glenn Johnson (KO % 52.4) in back to back fights. I wouldn't say those two fellas qualify as some of the hardest punchers. He also won a suspect decision over Tarver before going on a 3 fight losing streak. Ali lost 3 of his last 4 fights but never lost 3 in a row. he was only stopped once and that was by Larry Holmes who incedently you can make a case for one of the best Heavy Wieghts of his era. All in all when you compare resumes and you really analyze the opponents and outcomes you will see clearly Ali is P4P King over Roy Jones Jr.....Lefty

Exactly. Calzaghe fans are overrating him to make Joe look better if he wins.

Ali would win. His inside ability was always underrated and he definitelty had the skills and ability to get to Jones, even from the outside. Jones was great against tailor made guys but not in those technical boxing matches with fighters who knew how to use their advantages. Ali is too fast, has too good of a chin and a lot more fluent in his boxing. For the people who are just picking Jones becuase they don't have a clue what Ali was like in his prime years, then i strongly suggest that you go and revisit pre exile Ali. He is number two pound for pound of all time for a reason.

Both were great fighters. Ali came through adversity and beat some of the best fighters that the HW division has ever seen, and was the first to be a three time Heavyweight Champ. Roy Jones, on the other hand spanned his career from 154 all the way to Heavyweight, and dominating almost all of his opponents on the way to the top. If you really think about it...If Roy wouldve retired after Ruiz, he wouldve retired at 48 wins,1 loss (which was a DQ to Montell Griffin) as a champ in 4 different weight divisions. If Roy would've retired after the Ruiz bout, and let it soak in, about 10 years after that win, fans would be comparing him to Sugar ray robinson in the all time p4p fighters. But since he got KO'd twice since then, THEY MUSTA FORGOT, what exactly Roy did for boxing.

Prime Jones beats Calzaghe, todays Jones doesn't.
