someone please explain to me how Pac deserves more than a 30% cut? Actually, 80-20 would be more appropriate.
They can't explain this. This logic was used when the Marquez rematch was proposed by Arum, and Beristan told them to go suck an egg when he saw Arum's offer. Now Pac thinks he deserves 60-40 lol. Comical.

Please, you thought it would do more. That isn't hate. He is a promotor who knows the economics of boxing.

I really didn't want to see this fight anyway. I was trying to find ways to want to see this fight, but in the end DLH needs to fight somebody his own size and Pac has other fights that are more interesting. Not as nearly as big a payday for him, but more legitimate fights.

I already know you won't though, or you will just come back under another alt, right Razors Edge?
Razor Sharp was going to be my new screen name here, and that name is not an ALT. Stop listening to Fedor lol. You are 50 years old and you still can't spell permanent lol!!??...Are you trying to lie to us? Are you insinuating that Marquez didn't want the Pac rematch, and that he wanted the John fight? No, you get your facts straight lol. Did you just lie to me and this forum lol... lol. Clarify yourself lol. Marquez and Beristan turned down 750,000 to rematch Pac because they thought Marquez deserved more since he was part of the drama. Second, he took the John fight because he had no way else to go, and he had a chance to win a title. Look, I talk boxing now. I've ruined you. It is personal with you. I'm moving on. Get your life together lol.

I really don't think $20 million is equivalent to the proposed 70-30 split. 20 mil were part of Manny's demands and if he was getting that much even with a 30% take, then he would have taken the fight. I think he's looking at a little under 15 million.

I do agree with Arum about negotiation etiquette. You don't propose a 70-30 split, spend time in working out the other issues such as weight and glove size knowing fully well that you won't budge from your initial proposal. You're just wasting time and basically should have given that ultimatum from the get go. That's not "negotiating". I'm pretty sure Arum was targeting a 65-35% split from the beginning hence a counter offer of 60-40 to give some negotiating room. But I don't see why Oscar is so finicky about that extra 5% which couldn't be more that 2-3 million.

In any case, Arum's 65-35 is fair. I don't buy into the idea that Pac is not worth more than Floyd, considering he's pulling very good numbers in a relatively smaller market due to the lower weight class he campaigns at.

Would somebody please explain to that Filipino that you can't spend percentages, you can only spend dollars?

Manny can make 30% vs Delahoya and make $15 million ...or he can make 75% vs Soto and make $4 million.

Is Manny Pacquiao the only Asian guy who is bad at math?

I'll give you 15 million to jump off a bridge or 4 million to jump off a first floor balcony. It ain't math it's logic.

Mayweather, Hopkins, Mosley, etc. those guys got fights with Oscar because they accepted the fact that they were going to have to give in to all of Oscar's demands and in return they were going to make 3Xs as much as they'd ever made for a single fight with the promise that future fights would make them more money than their previous fights had.

The same thing would be true for Pacquiao and unlike, Hopkins, Mayweather and Mosley, Pacquiao doesn't even need to beat Oscar to build his fan bases bigger than it already is. So, I think the question still stands...does Pacquiao really even want the fight?
Mosley turned down the last Oscar fight. He said he'd beaten Oscar twice and deserved an even split. He turned down $12 mill, and said he was never sorry he had.

FACE IT, Oscar is about the greedoest so-and-so that has ever come to boxing. To make 40 mill from a fight (including PPV) isn't enough for him, he wants to make $42 mill.

His big goal in life now-according to him- is to become a billionaire. He says he's close but not there yet...............Disgusting.
