According to Bob Arum of Top Rank, a split of 65-35 may be enough to get a proposed fight with Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao done for December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After a week of talks, the two sides agreed to everything, but the purse split. De La Hoya agreed to come down to 147-pounds and for the use of eight-ounce gloves, but he would not move from his demand of a 70-30 split of the revenue. Pacquiao would not budge from his counter offer of 60-40, and advised Arum to move forward with a proposed November bout with Humberto Soto.
