Who won Joe Calzaghe vs Robin Reid?

I decided to rewatch this fight while on vacation, because I had never actually sat down and scored it before. I had always figured it was one of those close fights blown out of proportions because one judge made it a split decision, and Calzaghe really deserved to win.

but I was really surprised to find that I actually DID have Reid winning. he was landing some decent right hands, almost at will during some rounds of the fight, practically seemed to take over during the middle rounds. Calzaghe was winning his fair share of rounds because of his volume of punches, but at the end of the fight I didnt really feel he landed all that many more punches than Reid, and overall Reid was landing the harder punches.

so that was a surprise to me. who did you have winning this fight?

Calzaghe close but clear in a disturbing performance. No doubt, it was that fight - along with the Sakio Bika one - that Hopkins watched very closely prior to meeting Calzaghe.

Reid very, very clearly won the 5th round. but the ones before that were mostly Calzaghe.

I scored it 5 rounds each with 2 even, which gives Calzaghe the win due to the point deduction.

yeah Calzaghe did not cope well with rough tough guys like Reid ,Bika ,i think it would be interesting to see how he would of dealt with pitbull Glen Johnson he would have probably won but Johnson would have put it on him big time

                    the Johnson that fought Tarver
