I never make Mayweather threads, so I get a bye.
i agree i wish floyd would just get in there and fight who ever! It's like knowing your better than someone but not wanting to prove it. Floyd himself wasn't a big draw until i dont know i want to say dlh but **** the baldimore fight did GREAT numbers and that's a fight where no one knew baldi baldi and it still did GREAT ppv numbers. But wasn't too long ago he was stil the same great boxer but not that followed like he is now. When him and cotto fought on the same card here in fresno there was maybe 5,000 people IF THAT watching the fight fortunately i was one of them but if you recall to his first fight with castillo two GREAT lightweights the mgm was not close to selling out .

Truth is you have no idea whether he can sell out a fight on his own at the present time. His last two fights were huge, and even though that had a lot to do with ODLH and Hatton, it's not like Mayweather doesn't deserve any credit. And since he retired after Hatton we will never know what kind of a draw he is now unless he comes back.

Fact is that this is just another false statement about a retired fighter.

Floyd could sell fights on his own. I think he wanted other huge names to fight, to make the event big enough to justify paying him the huge salaries he was looking to earn.

Hes remind me of the old wrestling days. The WCW on TBS in like the mid to late 80's. When you would see these bums get in there against the likes of the 4 horseman, AMnny Fernandez, Jimmy Valiant, The Road Warriors.

These guys would just get the piss beat outta em every single time they stepped in the ring. Yet then were indeed on the show every single week gettin airtime and bruises for there work!!!

apparently you just don't understand what I said.

Floyd uses that excuse to NOT fight other fighters like cotto... he says things like "hes not a big enough name"

since hes such an ego maniac and has been recorded saying hes the reason the hatton and oscar fights did so well

why doesnt someone say to him, well if your so big, and u can sell out so much, why does cotto need to have a name? as long as ur name is on the fight card, it should sell out right?
