fighters do this mostly the maximize their money, especially when they are on their own. I mean if you think about it, guys who are usually under their own control, like say oscar or winky, select who they want to fight for the amount of money they feel they should earn, i think there is a certain level that fighters get to mentally where they say "i aint bustin my ass unless it makes this much $$$$".

You are right in a sense, but on the other hand, these guys are just tryin to get their money up and floyd isnt the only one who does it. This type of stuff leads to alot of fights not being made, and if you wanna complain, then you should really blame the promoters who made this mentality in the first place, maximizing profit over anything else.
