im a fan but Jones is overrated IMO people find it all to easy to claim no one would have beat him in 90's

ive said it before ill say it again Jones is a great fighter no doubt but he is greater because of who he never faced rather than of cause he did face

I agree with this, he was just a boxer FFS! Obviously, he was an exceptionally excellent one, but too many people literally believe he could not be beaten and would KO everyone in 3. Jones had trouble with quite a few opponents, and went 12 with even more. At LHW, he wasn't even that hard of a puncher!

I'd have liked to have seen him in with Benn more than anyone else.

He is in my personal opinion too, some of the combinations and talent he has shown was unique.

Also Jones never ever looked comfortable on the ropes even back when he fought Hopkins he looked out of his comfort zone on the ropes and he has never had the ability to tie his man up it would have been interesting to see how he would have coped with a aggressive fighters like Benn & Collins and a slick Lefty like Nunn who had quick hands and was a good counter puncher

              Nunn
              Benn
              Collins

are the fights i would have liked to have seen him in

Sorry guys but I'm serious. I think Jones should be mentioned along side the likes of Leonard, Robinson, Pep etc.

He was incredible and truely underrated, as good as Mayweather is he is no Roy Jones.

Personally I think he looked very comfortable on the ropes, that was his "defense" lean against the ropes and move his head and counter etc. In the Hopkins fight they were both green Jones was having his first big fight so nerves obviously played a part. I would have loved to see him against Eubank pre-Watson who had a granite chin, unorthadox style, underated power and killer instinct (pre watson) and had fast hands a feet. Eubank was very versatile in that he could brawl, box, run etc.

I'd add Steve Collins to that list.

I will give my input on Roy Jones Jr. Legacy:

                    - 1988 Olympic Silver medalist - (should have been gold)

                    - Champion in 4 different weight classes and unified in one weight division.

Beat several fighters while in his prime or while they were in their prime. To name a few: James Toney, Bernard Hopkins, Mike McCallium, Montell Griffin, Reggie Johnson, Antonio Tarver, Clinton Woods, and Felix Trinidad.

Beat a top 10 Heavyweight. Wait let me restate my answer.... He whipped a top 10 Heavyweight in John Ruiz to become the first Middleweight since Bob Fitzsimmons to win the Heavyweight title.

Fastest fighter at 160 and above since Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali and he was faster then both of them in his prime. He is IBHOF material as soon as he hangs his gloves up.
