    No go for Pacman-Oscar fight!
    By Nick Giongco
Manny Pacquiao has decided to stay at lightweight and defend his WBC 135-lb crown after turning down an offer by Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) for a Dec. 6 fight in Las Vegas, lawyer Franklin Gacal said in a statement released early Thursday morning. "I have been informed that Oscar De La Hoya is firm with the 70-30 revenue sharing and won't budge in to the 60-40 split we have counter-offered. I find the offer of GBP unconscionable hence unacceptable. It would have been an honor to fight De La Hoya on his last fight capping a very illustrious boxing career but under the circumstances, the option left is to move on. I have already made specific instructions to my lawyer to start negotiating with Bob Arum for my next fight with any possible opponent at 135 lbs," said Pacquiao. Gacal said what Pacquiao wanted was a fair share of the mega fight and apparently, Oscar De La Hoya is making an offer that he knows is unacceptable," Gacal told *********.com.It is certain that Pacquiao will face Humberto Soto of Mexico sometime in November in Las Vegas.
haha nice... lets hope it happens.

Dont claim that bull**** unless you have proof. I hate when fans take quotes they have heard from another guy who has heard from some other guy who supposedly read it in a forum from some other guy.

provide proof or dont mention it

I dont think that DLH wants to fight Margarito because fighting Cotto would make double the money.

I didn't hear it from no one but Oscar himself after one of his fights on HBO or PPV, I forget which fight though. It was prior to the Vargas fight, cuz he said there are two fighters he would never fight, Vargas and Margarito. He never said why, I think we all know why he didn't want Vargas but I guess it eventually made $ense. I hear ya when you say you hate when people make **** like this up, but I aint makin' **** up, I'll have to go through my tape collection to find out which fight it was. I also remember hearing on that same broadcast that Margarito got a little rough with Oscar in sparring.

I think i remotely remember him saying something like this but its been so long, but the thing is, with Vargas, it had more to do with him not wanting to give him the satisfaction of even making a cent off him. I dont think it had anything to do with him being scared or anything, but there came a point where he had to fight him or look like a *****. Seriously, i dont think Oscar wanted him making a dime or getting anything off of his fame and i dont blame him, id feel the same way if another Rap producer badmouthed me for the sake of getting over on my name, i wouldnt even awknowledge his existence because thats what he wants.

However Vargas kept winning and the public grew more receptive to his words, De La Hoya needed that win. Margarito however im sure it was probably something along similar lines, but truthfully, i dont have any inside info on that because his relationship with margarito isnt that well documented.

I'm gonna look through my tape collection. It was pre-Vargas. He said he'd never fight Margarito but never said why. I believe it was mentioned during the broadcast that Tony really tried to rough him up during thier sparring, probably hurt Oscar's feelings.

And at this point, Oscar is beginning to look like a ***** again. Tony needs to keep calling him out publicly, making fun of his fishnets & ****, maybe talking to the media about thier sparring sessions. Maybe this would entice Oscar to take the fight.

Although it wouldnt be as drastic as it was for him to fight Vargas, i think if tony reached out more to outlets that speak english, hed reach even more people. Because people outside the mexican american community knew about Vargas and his mouth and thats what made the fight so huge. They were showing vargas' bull**** on ESPN at one point, more magazine outlets, more american tv exposure, if its about oscar the american public will listen.
