Pretty much. He doesn't realize that fighting Tony would finally give him the approval from the Mexican fans he has always wanted, win or lose.

I'm betting he takes a very soft touch for his last fight.

Oscar is a legend and his legacy is secure IMO, regardless of whether he chooses to beat up on Pac or take on a real challenge.

I wish De La Hoya would go the **** away though... I'm so tired of every fighter willing to pass on meaningful fights to collect their 100 trillion dollar ****ing paycheck for fighting a useless ****ing fight at a ****ing catchweight.

I'm really angry about this if you can't tell.
well i mean if you have an opportunity, which most fighters dream of just one fight and be rich for life, why not take it.....i mean i would with my eyes closed get my paycheck and bounce off, it's a tough career a chance like that is 1 out of a mil.
who ever fights oscar should thankful

That ****er needs to man-up and fight Margarito, I beleive this would be a bigger fight money-wise than Pacquiao, however my hopes for this fight to happen have already diminished.

Told You All this fight wouldn't happen. Oscar, man up and fight Tony!!!

                  No go for Pacman-Oscar fight!
                  By Nick Giongco
Manny Pacquiao has decided to stay at lightweight and defend his WBC 135-lb crown after turning down an offer by Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) for a Dec. 6 fight in Las Vegas, lawyer Franklin Gacal said in a statement released early Thursday morning. "I have been informed that Oscar De La Hoya is firm with the 70-30 revenue sharing and won't budge in to the 60-40 split we have counter-offered. I find the offer of GBP unconscionable hence unacceptable. It would have been an honor to fight De La Hoya on his last fight capping a very illustrious boxing career but under the circumstances, the option left is to move on. I have already made specific instructions to my lawyer to start negotiating with Bob Arum for my next fight with any possible opponent at 135 lbs," said Pacquiao. Gacal said what Pacquiao wanted was a fair share of the mega fight and apparently, Oscar De La Hoya is making an offer that he knows is unacceptable," Gacal told *********.com.It is certain that Pacquiao will face Humberto Soto of Mexico sometime in November in Las Vegas.

Oscar wants to retire as a champion, so he will fight Sergio Mora.

Manny and his people know the Oscar fight is dangerous, and they know he has buku bucks, therefore they will price themselves so high that Oscar's greedy ass won't agree to thier terms. Tony will fight him for half of what Manny's asking for. Oscar has no choice but to man up, face his demons and fight Tony!
I hope he does fight him. I want to see DLH go out with pride, not by beating lil man PAC. Win or lose to MARG you would have to give him credit for stepping in the ring with him. I hope he does.
