If Tyson had stopped Douglas in the 8th, where would it rank among comebacks?

I disagree with you sir. i think it would have been highly regarded in boxing. Up until that time we had never seen what Tyson could do under pressure. This bigger man was beating the hell out him for 7 or 8 rounds. Jabbing combos body shots laying on him tiring him out. Tyons up until that point pretty much steam rolled everyone he fought with the exception of Bonecrusher Smith and the 1st fight with Mitch Green.....If the reff would have made the correct call it would have been a tremendous come back in my eys and and for one we would have known for sure what a battle tested Tyson could do under pressure. it might have done more then just show us a come back but changed history. Not only for the one fight and Tyson retaining his undisputed title but also for future of Tyson and his career. I have watched that fight over and over with different people present and we all have agreed that Tyson KO's Douglass in that fight. the fact it happened near the end of the round also prevented tyson from finishing him once he did climb to his feet after a true count of 13. I think this is a great thread.....Lefty

Nowhere because you were supposed to knock out a guy you were 42-1 to beat.

29-1 sir and yes it is supposed to happen but if you are getting your as@ handed to you for 7 or 8 rounds and take the punishment that Tyons took and come back and KO the guy with a vicious uppercut it is pretty fing impressive in my book. It adds to your legacy of being a great fighter. Not only can you win with 1st round ko's but you have the heart to fight back when you are getting pounded on....Lefty

              42-1

Tyson wasn't getting his ass whooped. Let's not make Buster's performance in the first 8 rounds out to be some sort of vicious beating.
