        No explanation needed..
see this is the kind of thing that annoys me Roy was fantastic back then and it apeared that no one could beat him but that dont make it so just cause because that is what he looked like beating the likes of Brannon ,Kelly,Hall etc to a pulp

no fighter is unbeatable even in his prime Championship Boxing is to competitive for that to be the case u cant just assume he would of beaten all the best fighters around his era just because he looked so superior u have to prove it

i can sit here and say Jones would of beaten Benn ,Eubank,Darius ,Collins,Nunn but it is not gospel cause i say so and only a fool would suggest Jones was unbeatable in his prime he was getting outboxed by Montell Griffin & struggled with Southpaws IMO there was definetly enough quality fighters out there at the time for at least one of them to given him another 'L' on his record

like i always say Jones is greater because of who he never faced rather than who he did face

I don't think he really struggled with southpaws, as a whole. He had trouble with Antonio Tarver, and Eric Harding, but dominated a whole slew of other southpaws.

Pernell Whitaker is my all-time favourite fighter. And the list of guys that I rate as better than him is very short. VERY short.

i think Jones struggled with Cagey fighters in general the kind that would make him lead and look to counter and the Southpaw versions of that were Tarver ,Harding IMO and the orthadox version was Montell Griffin

i guess his results suggest otherwise but still

See where fans differ, is how they interpret Great and Not Great, along with Overrated and Underrated. Many look at what a fighter has accomplished vs. what others view as potential and comparison.

Some say Roy is overrated because in their eyes, he failed to face many of the best of his time. Others look at his ring generalship, speed, reflexes and wonder who in the past, could have possibly dealt with the game he introduced.

Many still consider heavyweights from way back to be the best, when most of them were 190-200 lbs soaking wet. How could they deal with the naturally bigger beasts we saw introduced the Late 80's and 90's.

It is all objective and many on the All Time great list, keep their position from reputation alone, as many current historians refuse to rock the boat.
