If anybody wants to make a bet on this fight, I'll put 75K points on Virchis.

I do think Gomez can win a UD but Virchis could score a KO

In the battle of communisms, Cuban Communism has outlasted Russian communism, so I am going with Gomez by UD.

Cuban Communism even outlasted Oliver McCall.

That being said, they say Gomez is 35 so he's more likely to be 48 at this point, so the youthful cadre Virchis may have a chance against the aging Castro, i mean Gomez.

Let's see if they're really going to fight before we pick the winner.

This will be part of a very good fight card.

                    - Arslan vs. Jones should be a dandy.
                    - Inkin vs. Balzsay good 168 matchup.

The Gomez vs. Virchis fight will either be 1) a UD for the better boxer Gomez, or 3) a KO win for the iron-chinned power puncher Virchis.

Wasn't Virchis' decision over Sprott considered an embarrassingly bad hometown decision? I never saw the fight but I remember a lot of people very mad about it on the net.

To those that saw the fight, what was the deal, and what can we take from it when thinking about Virchis vs Gomez?

Also, I read there was a point vs McCall in their second fight where Gomez looked to be in a bit of trouble. How does McCall's speed compare to Virchis'? Neither are that fast I know, but is Virchis at least somewhat quicker?

The fight is in Germany so that helps Virchis. How big is the ring?

What was different in the second Virchis / Vidoz fight that allowed Virchis to escape?

Was the Chagaev / Virchis fight really all that close?
