My point is that claiming you are the WW champ by beating Hatton is bull ****... Hatton is not a WW therefore beating him at that weight has very little substance.

If someone wants to claim being a champ at a particular weight, they need to fight the best at that weight, Hatton is not that.

I respect Mayweather for moving up, but his choice of opponents was carefull and lackluster.

Tito moved to JMW and beat Vargas. Then moved to 160 and fought BHop, and Winky.... Even though he lost to those fighters, HE WASNT AFRAID TO FIGHT THE BEST.

You people out there....remember, as much as you and I want to see Margarito and Williams fight again, I just don't see it happening yet.
Understand this is a businesss. Theres alot of money at steak when you are at this level. Not only for Margarito but everyone who works for him. Margarito doesn't decide who he fights. "His people" do. Williams style creates problems for Margarito. Everybody knows that, especially "his people."
They will fight at some point but I see Margaritos team stretching their opportunites to make money with less risk before fighting him. Makes sence? Of course.....
Remember. Any human being that decides to be a pro fighter to make a living and put food on their table for his or hers family in no way can be scared coward. Just no way!

Listen, what I trying to say is Mayweather isn't a natural WW. His fight against DLH was at 154, Fight Night he weigh in at 148. What did everyone on this site say...When Hatton was challenging Mayweather?? They all said it was a good idea...being that Mayweather is the smallest WW.

Margarito was beaten by Williams. Now, Tall Paul is offering Tony a career-high payday to avenge the loss. Tony doesn't want the fight.

Tony looked terrific in beating down Cotto. But Cotto is a much smaller man who had been hurt before.

Margarito turned down a four million dollar offer from Williams. it would be MORE THAN DOUBLE his previous career high payday.

No. Floyd was claiming to be the WW champion by beating the linear champion, followed by the last guy who held the belt. ...not by beating Hatton.

Ring Magazine validated that. In fact, was there anybody who did NOT have FMJ as the legitimate WW champion? Not 'beltholder', but champion.

I don't think anyone is painting Hatton as some WW legend. The question, however, remains: is Floyd Mayweather, Jr. a legitimate welterweight?
