wow this matchup came out of no where. this is a ggod bout for both.
more so for cotto but cintron looses no statis in a good loss to him.
Cotto took a bad beating to the body he needs to properly heel and then fight... ilike the match up it should entertaining and we should see Cotto go back to his body work and for the PR fans they will be very happy although pretty much be for Cotto....they should have the fight back in NYC at the Garden and do it in the first quarter of 09 leaving Cotto enough time after that fight to excercise his rematch option with Margarito...I believe he has one year to get back in the ring with Margarito before the option runs out...Lefty

I can see the card now

    Margarito vs Clottey or Williams

    Cotto vs Cintron

This fight should be in San Juan.

Wasn't he supposed to be tough? A rematch is the best available fight for the division.
margarito would fight williams in a heartbeat
unfortunately p williams promoter pissed arum off so williams will be out of the spotligh for a long time

in a good close fight where you didn't take too much damage an immediate rematch is a must. In a hard battle where you took as much punishment as cotto did you don't want to get in the ring with the same guy in your very next fight. Chances are nothing will change come fight night!

I actually think that will be a real good idea, make it happen.

i totally agree. not only is he coming back too soon but against a viable opponent. you would think cotto would take some kind of tune up fight before a fight with cintron, but if he does beat cintron that would put him back in the mix real quick.

interesting....still think Cotto should take the rest of the year off! Cintron on the other hand needs to answer the phone when Paul William's people call! I heard they been tryin to get him but he wants no part of Paul.

if cotto fought alfonso gomez what makes dibella thing he would take on the more dangerous cintron right after he lost?
he will probably fight an alfonso gomez like type of opponent

I think it's a case of promoters trying to cash in on their fighters as quick as possible without regard to the fighters long term career goals. If I was Cotto's handler, I would rest him until early 2009 and then match him against a "B" level opponent like Cosme Riveria or Walter Maltyse...

You dont come back against a big puncher after a fight like that. So I highly doubt that this fight goes down.
