Pryor also called out Hearns but they never fought, not sure if Hearns avoided him though.

Hagler, Hearns and Leonard all avoided Mike McCallum according to McCallum himself.

Who is your money on Pryor or Leonard?
I honestly think the Hawk would have given Leonard hell! I would pick Pryor to win and maybe stop Leonard. He was lightning fast and had great power.

I am a bit biased as Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor is one of my all time favorite fighters..

I love SRL. But he wanted no parts of the Hawk.
And Hearns is in my top 3 favorite fighters of all time.

It certainly appears that way. The risk vs. reward was too great.. It would have been such a great fight and it's a shame that it never took place.

Leonard may have fought Benitez, Duran, Hagler, and Hearns, but he didn't want any part of Pryor.

All others were significantly more rewarding and more notable names for Leonard to fight than Pryor who had not beaten too many names aside from an old Antonio Cervantes at that point and was a small light welterweight.

When Pryor did finally become the fighter we know he is today by beating Arguello in 1982, Leonard had already retired and Hearns had moved up to LMW/MW along with Benitez and Duran.

Exactly. This Legendary Nights "Leonard was scared of Pryor" myth is ridiculous, and that series has helped make Pryor one of the most overrated fighters in the history of boxing forums. Not saying the poster who said that earlier on this thread is saying that Leonard feared Pryor, but others have said that.
