not saying Wright couldn't have won it or anything, I just preferred Vargas' power shots to Wright's taps.
And that's a fair assessment I think. It bothers me when people cry robbery in a fight where one guy lands more and the other guys lands harder. There is just a certain threshold that is different in every judges mind as to how many punches the lighter puncher needs to land to overcome a single punch from his hard punching opponent.

That's why I was so confused that you said that Whitaker didn't have an argument in the world as to why he won the Oscar De La Hoya fight. I thought that fight and this fight had quite a few similiarities when it came to volume of punches vs. meaningfulness of punches.

I thought Winky won clearly with a high workrate, tight defense, and good body work.

Close fight. I like Winky but it wasn't a robbery at all, could have gone either way.

Vargas was the aggresor and that is why he got the call. If Winky wasn't WInky and became a bit more agressive he would be undefeated now.

Haha, I can't imagine that being more aggressive would have helped him against Julio Cesar Vasquez... I mean, **** he went down every time he got hit... being in his face probably would have gotten him knocked out.

Being more aggressive against Vargas and Taylor would have probably won him both of those bouts more clearly.

I doubt it would have helped much against Hopkins.

I don't know anything about the Harry Simon fight though.

I thought Winky was pretty damn agressive against Taylor and I think he won it too. First time I had it a draw, but rewatching I thought Winky won 116-112 or 115-113.

Well yes, but fighting his ass off in the 12th couldn't have hurt him... (even though I think he won the 12th putting it in the deep freeze, because he absolutely froze Taylor's effectiveness, while Wright did just enough to keep him ahead in the round... but that is just my opinion).
