After reading all of the words in this thread, it is obviously much easier to criticise Joe Calzaghe than to actually beat him.

both are very good fighters.

i consider both great fighters but NOT all-time great.

but if you hear people talk about both , you'd think they were sugar ray robinson or something.

hopkins run of defenses at 160 are not that impressive.

if you are gonna bash joe's resume you better not uphold bernard's because the middleweight division wasn't much better than super middleweight.

Calzaghe has no where near the amount of accomplishments that Hopkins does. Hopkins defended his title a record of 20 (+) times, and it was an ACTUAL RECOGNIZED BELT. Not a WBO belt. Hopkins than cleared out the division, and unified the titles. Calazaghe defended his WBO belt against bums, or way past their primes champions. the only credible wins for Calzaghe are against a shot Eubank, Jeff Lacy, and a way past his prime Hopkins.

I think its funny when Calzaghe fans overrated his resume. I think one Calzaghe fan went far enough to rate Mundine as a true champion
