I like margo more than u think.... and im really happy for him for the win with cotto cos he deserve it.... im the one who told u one time.. that he was robbed in the santos fight.. previous his fight with cotto... is that hating??? na man... and im pretty sure.. that margarito is more than gratefull with cotto for giving him the chance.... boxing is not just a sport where the most important thing is to be EL MAS QUE PELEA..!! IS who makes the most... u need to understand that.. and from that point of view.. u need to realize and accept that taking the clottey fight for less is not a smart move.. HIGHRISK LOW REWARD. IMO.. arum is gonna screw him... one way or the other.....
but if he fights williams.. he clear that blemish on his record... which i think he can... gain more respect.. .his stocks will rise even more... and his next few fights will be millionaries for sure... like I told u.. he can get on track to keep winnin millions instead of thounsands... and thats a smart move.... but if u say.. im hating...ermm. .ok..

Although Margarito did definitely win and maybe they were both injured, you do have to admit that while Clottey was punching a lot throughout the first half and then stopped punching all of a sudden, it probably does mean that he hurt his hand quite badly. Whereas, a lot of people say that Margarito was just as injured. Well, that is not really how it works. Margarito threw a record number of punches which means his hands were not hurting, or if they were it was not nearly bad enough to effect him at all.
Clottey is one tough son of biatch and it would have taken a very hurt hand to make him stop punching so suddenly and completely. It is not any excuse at all, but, just looking at the various possibilities. Clottey's hand was obviously in much worse shape than Margarito's when he hurt it as he would have been able to keep punching if it wasn't that bad.
Clottey is not the type of fighter to stop punching after five rounds if his hand wasn't really, really hurt. It would take a lot to make him stop punching and it was obviously a lot. That doesn't mean he would have won if it wasn't hurting, but, you have to look at the scenario that if he hadn't and had been able to keep punching, then would he have been able to hold Marg off long enough? I don't know, but, Marg could not have been very injured if he was able to throw record numbers of punches. If you are seriously hurt it doesn't matter how tough you are, you cannot punch with a severely bruised or broken hand. Not record numbers of punches anyway. You can throw, but it would be seldom and without much force. The complete opposite of what Marg was able to do.
Anyway, I have been wanting to see this rematch for a long time to see if Clottey really was hurt that badly, which I think was true, or if he was just overwhelmed by Marg.
Nonetheless, Margarito won the first fight so the old fight doesn't really matter. I just don't think the whole "Marg was injured as well though.." thing works. He may have been slightly injured, but, it was obviously so minor as to not effect him at all. Not even the tiniest little bit, otherwise he would not have been able to throw as many punches as he was.

Margarito
all fights where Clottey stopped punching in the middle of a fight letting his opponents back in the fight. Even with Chico the middle rounds he decided to let off the gas and let Chico actually gain a bit of steam whereas Clottey probably could have stepped it up and take Chico out of there.
the only difference in those fights was that Tony was able to keep coming due to his insane stamina. He kept the pressure going throughout the fight whereas the others couldn't keep the momentum going
and you seem so dismissive of the injuries Margarito sustained yet you weren't there when it happened. All through camp his hand was bugging him. We had a meet and greet with Tony at the beginning of his preparation for Clottey and as early as then he was saying the area behind his knuckles was hurting him but he kept on. He also rolled his ankle about two weeks out from the fight but short of the story David Avila broke he never said anything about it.
biggest difference between the two is that Clottey used his hands as an excuse while Tony by and large kept his injuries out of the spotlightComment
