Vic has improved everything........speed/defence(alittle bit lol)/combo's/boxing smarts/dtermination/motivation. The Vic who fought Donaire get KTFO by Mijares/Montiel/and Donaire AGAIN! The Vic who fought Kirilov actually has a chance against those three, he might not win, but he has a very good chance. And don't teach me about america ***** I was born and raised in the USA.

I'm in the camp that thinks a younger Hopkins could/probably would defeat this incarnation of Pavlik, but the reason that I don't think he will likely defeat Pavlik at this point in time can be summed up in two words: WORK RATE.

i think that work rate/pavlik coming forward will result in counter punches. Which as we know OldHop is pretty good at

Pavlik may lose to hopkins i dont think he will but he could. But win or lose pavlik still knocks out calzaghe easy.

Pavlik has an edge in work rate, power, and stamina. But Hopkins is a naturally thicker, bigger man who walks around at about 185-188 while Pavlik says he walks around at 176.

Hopkins is the trickiest fighter in the business. I'm worried about a cut over Pavlik's eye caused by a sneaky headbutt the referee doesn't see (then made worse by punches) or Pavlik's nose being broken by Hopkin's head. Hopkins will hold his opponent's arm while hitting behind the head, and use a sleeper hold with his arm around his opponents neck sometimes. He likely has many other sneaky tactics I don't know about.

I believe if Pavlik fights cautiously at some distance and is wary of head butts, he should win, and likely even become the first to KO B-Hop. But with Hopkins there is always some risk - B-Hop will come into the fight with some kind of plan, for sure.
